Getting Ready for Diwali

             IT'S DIWALI SEASON, EVERYBODY!

I know for a fact that everyone, irrespective of their religion, will be excited for Diwali. Diwali isn't just about the festival of light. It's when little kids from different backgrounds come together to play around with a firecracker. It's a time when neighbours join and make delicious sweets and snacks to distribute to everyone on the neighbourhood. It creates a sense of community and belonging amongst the likeliest AND the unlikeliest of people.

People usually start preparing for Diwali at least a month in advance. We buy new clothes, shoes, and of course, sweets. But as the big day comes closer, we realise that we might not be in a good shape. We might have gained a couple extra pounds around the waist or would have acne due to all the junk we gorged ourselves on for the past couple of weeks . This puts us in a real pickle now, doesn't it? Well, fear not, dear friends. Here are a few foods you can eat in the next five days to make that skin shine.

First, obviously, consume a lot of fruits and avocados. This helps in keeping your skin hydrated and smooth. The healthy fat in avocados keeps the skin supple. Second, have a lot of greens in your diet. Green vegetables help in revitalising your skin to give a natural glow  (which will look especially alluring in the Diwali lights). The third measure would be to consume a lot of carrots and tomatoes. Since these two actually taste good together, you can make a soup out of them. Carrots reduce the damage caused in your skin by UV rays and tomatoes help in removing the fine lines on your face. The fourth measure is to drink orange juice. I know I already mentioned fruits in the first measure but orange juice has a separate importance and is required to be consumed at least twice everyday. The Vitamin C present in orange juice helps to keep the skin firm and smooth (no one likes saggy skin, right?). The final measure is to eat nuts. Nuts have a lot of nutrients which help your skin to work efficiently. You can just eat some nuts in between meals as snacks to prevent you from eating unhealthy snacks like chips. These are the five measures you can take to have a shiny, smooth skin. Enjoy your Diwali and have a safe, pollution free Diwali, guys.
