The Iron Man Of India

             Do you guys have any idea what today is? Sure, everyone knows it's Halloween but what else? Today, the 31st of October, is National Unity Day or Sardar Vallabhai Patel Jayanti. Patel played an extremely important role during India's freedom struggle and during the integration of the country and serve as the first serving Deputy Prime Minister of India. To commemorate Patel, the new government decided to celebrate this day as Sardar Vallabhai Patel Jayanti. Patel, who is also known as The Iron Man of India, is honoured and celebrated for all his efforts and achievements today.

             Indians collectively praise Patel for his struggles and his accomplishments. To honour him, the Indian government decided to build a statue of him and name him The Iron Man of India. National Unity Day imparts the message to protect the unity, integrity and security of our country at any cost. It is a symbol to show that our country is united and has one goal. As the first Deputy Prime Minister of India, Patel organised relief efforts to rescue people fleeing from Delhi and Punjab. Today, to do our part in getting to know about our nation's Iron Man, let us all find out some little details about his life and maybe try to have a more united front when it comes to dealing with issues of the nation.
