HEALTHY SUMMER DRINKS


As we welcome summers, we need something to beat the heat and the first that comes to our mind is a healthy and refreshing summer drink to keep us hydrated and energetic. Staying hydrated is the most important factor to keep going in this sweltering heat and maintains good health. our body tends to lose water at a fast pace due to excessive sweating. While water is one such natural source, a vital drink to quench thirst, it can not provide all the nutrition and energy. Some beverages are needed to balance the blood sugar level and also provide refreshment. And if they are freshly prepared in our kitchens, they are most healthy and hygienic way of staying hydrated and cool. We suggest a healthy drink - Aam-panna. This refreshing summer drink is prepared using mango pulp and blended with cumin (jeera) and mint leaves. Another is Jaljeera, made with roasted cumin coarse into powder and mixed with water, there are other drinks like sattu sharbat, buttermilk, coconut water, sugarcane juice, lassi, barley water, lemonade, watermelon juice etc.are some common as well as healthy drinks which keep us healthy, refreshing and hydrated.
Summer is also the season of fruits like mangoes, watermelon, grapes, litchi, java plum, oranges etc and all of them are juicy and these juices can bring out some healthy and refreshing drinks. There are other healthy drinks like cucumber and mint, virgin mojito, ginger lemonade, sherlies temple, watermelon cucumber cooler , so many types of drinks which are satisfying to the tongue as well as health. So during the summers, keep making new and innovative drinks to keep yourself refreshed and healthy.
