Warm food vs. Cold food
Ever since we were kids, we were told to eat our food hot or warm. No one told us to have cold food. In fact, it was frowned upon to either serve or consume cold food. We were told that it's because cold food is unhealthy and that is why I did a little research about this rumour to figure out if it indeed is a rumour or if it is a fact.
Usually, people eat cold and raw food during summer. Ice cream companies basically thrive on summers. Everyone wants something cold. Everyone wants something to calm their body down. Whereas in winters, it is the exact opposite. People prefer to have warm food to protect them and make them feel better while they are surrounded by a cold environment.
Studies show that the body takes up heat energy to break down the food particles during digestion. Especially during winter, the heat energy used up by the body is high. So, people consume warmer food or really hot food like soup to help speed up the digestion process. Furthers have proven that it takes more heat energy to digest raw food than properly cooked food. Hence, it is preferred to eat raw food in summer and warm, cooked food in winter.
