Battling Air Pollution With Food






             Over the past two decades, the level of pollution in not just our country but our world has increased drastically. This includes air pollution as well. This affects everyone in this entire world. Not just the rich, not just the poor, it affects everyone. To cope up with this, firstly, we need to be more environmentally aware and do our part in making the condition a bit better. Secondly, we can adapt certain dietary practices to cope up with the air pollution. In today's blog, we will discuss about these food products.

             Vitamin C (oranges, cabbage) is the single most potent antioxidant for our body. Required levels of Vitamin C must always be present in our body for proper maintenance of the lungs. Hence, it is a necessity for us especially amidst air pollution. Vitamin E (almond, clove) is also crucial for our body as it helps in defending our bodily tissue against damage. Beta Carotene (spinach, carrots) performs antioxidant activities which help in controlling inflammation. Omega-3 Fats (walnuts, flax seeds) help in protecting the health of the heart against problems due to air pollution. Adding these food products to our daily diet will help cope with air pollution AND will prove to be effective in improving our health in the long run.
