Children's Day

"While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about" - Angela Schwindt

Today, the 14th November, is celebrated as children's day throughout India. Children are the building blocks of our nation. They are like the looking glass of our future. We can see how our future world would look like by noticing how children treat each other. They might not be mature enough to understand certain things but children are the purest of people. There is always kindness in their eyes and hope in their voice. So, it just seems fit that we take one day, this day, to celebrate the children of our nation, their hopes and their dreams.

As we all know, most children generally LOVE sweets. Let it be candy or ice cream or Gulab Jamun, children go gaga for anything sweet. That's why a lot of parents dip tablets in honey before giving it to their infants. They also usually fangirl over fast food like a burger or a pizza. But this is only because their parents don't let them eat it often and the forbidden fruit tastes the best. Chocolates play a HUGE role in a child's food intake. There were even times when I got chocolates as a birthday gift from my friends. Fear not, health freaks. Children also like certain vegetables. But these vegetables vary with the children. Some love beetroot while some despise it. It all comes down to an individual's personal choice but there's a lot of ways to make even a yucky beetroot taste like ambrosia. So, fellow kids, if you face a situation where you HAVE to eat a yucky veggie (like when your mom goes bananas about you eating fast food all the time) spice it up, or sweeten it up. There's always a way to disguise a vegetable just enough to avoid the taste you don't like.
