Types Of Kheer
Sweets have always been a huge part of our life. Whether it is a good occasion or a sad one, there's always sweet in the house. One of those sweets is Kheer. Now, we all know what Kheer is. It is one of the most famous sweet dishes available in India. From kids to Grandparents, everyone loves Kheer. It is a simple yet delicious dessert that feels extremely familiar. Kheer is the ultimate comfort food of India. When I say "Kheer", all that most of you could think about is rice. But in reality, Kheer is so much more than that. There are so many different types of Kheer available to us and today's blog is about those bowls of sweetness.
The first type is obviously rice Kheer. Milk and sugar are simmered with overcooked rice till it has a pinkish white color. And then comes apple Kheer which is similar to the custard that Westerners make. Then, there's the surprising paneer kheer which absolutely filled with so many different textures. The orange kheer definitely puts a tangy twist in the regular version of Kheer and adds an amazing OOMPH to the food. Vermicelli kheer is a traditional South Indian dish that is available almost in all households.
We also have the healthy soya, rava and wheat kheer for the health freaks and the ones on a diet. There are also lots of fruit kheer apart from the orange one like pineapple, strawberry and lychee. What's surprising is that people also make kheer with methi, moong dal and even makhane! India has an abundance of sweets and this just wonderful sweetens things up.
