DURGA PUJA - 2020 A NEW STYLE OF DURGA PUJA
First of all happy Durga
puja to all. Durga puja is the grandest festival in India. Every autumn Durga
puja came with joys of celebration and spirituality. Durga puja celebrates the
victory of the goddess Durga over the demon king Mahishasura. As tole by Hindu
mythology, the demon was set out to wage war against the gods and it was to
Durga to slay him and protect earth. She began her battel against the demon on
the seventh day of Navratri, known as Maha Saptami and slayed him by the final
day of Vijay Dashami. The goddess, known to Hindus as the “destroyer of evil”,
is characterized by her ten arms carrying various lethal weapons, as well as her
vehicle – the lion.
Puja brings a lot of
excitement, joys and energy in ourselves. We suddenly have got boosted up and
doing our tasks as fast as we can and roaming here and there for shopping,
roaming unnecessarily in fairs and mela’s, visiting puja pandal frequently
anytime in crowd. But between this we are forgetting one thing that “this year
is not as the previous years”. Safety and precautions should be our first
priority. Government has issued their guidelines to their state’s citizens, they
did their job but to follow them should be our responsibility. This year is a
little different with other previous years, as on those years our ear was not
got to get used to hold our masks weight. But this year mask has come into our dress
code. Mask is not a weight, it’s our Bramhastra in this Coronakal.
This year we all are
fighting with this demon named covid-19. And we can only make him fall down if and
only if we follow the guidelines recommended by the experts. Puja may be
performed in special erected small pandals/Mandals, where it has been done traditionally,
only with the objective performance of rituals without public participation. Please
hold your mask, gloves and sanitizer with you always and maintain the 6 feet
distance from one another. And make your Durga puja special like other years.
