What makes the food culture in your city different than others



Have you ever wondered why people from different parts of the world eat different types of food? what your famous food speaks about your city? There is more of a connection between food ,people and culture than you may think. We taste variety of food from childhood and the most delicious one becomes our favourite. On a larger scale, food is an important part of culture. Traditional cuisine is passed down from one generation to the next. 

Well, I'm going to speak about jharkhand's food culture. So, if you are someone who lives in jharkhand or want to known about the famous cuisines of jharkhand then this is for you.

The food is not very different from its neighbouring state of Bihar. Jharkhandi People normally prefers rice, vegetables and pickles and almost cooked in all households. Although Jharkhandi foods contain recipes of many delicious foods like Dhuska, Koinar Sag, Grenn Sag, Dubki, Udad Dal, Kurthi Dal, Litti-Chokha and Sattu Paratha, Pitha, Khapada, Roti, Arsa, Mitha Pitha, and Kudurum Ki Chatni are the famous recipe of the state which are preferred by the local peoples too.

Jamshedpur being the largest city in the state of jharkhand, the famous and most loved dish of jharkhand is Litti along with chokha, is a complete meal originated from the Indian state of Bihar. It is also popular in Jharkhand. It is a dough ball made up of whole wheat flour and stuffed with gram flour, pulses and mixed with herbs and spices and then roasted over coal or wood then it is tossed with much ghee. If you're haven't had Litti chokha before, then you must give it a try this festive season.

Pitha  is a type of rice cake from the eastern regions of the Indian subcontinent, common in Bangladesh, Nepal and India. It is especially popular in the    eastern Indian states of jharkhand also. One can find several varieties of pitha's in the state, from milk pitha to aloo ka chokha pitha. There is absolutely no dearth in the variety of pitha's which are available on streets of Jharkhand. They are cute looking rice flour cylindrical-shaped balls, which are stuffed in the middle, and can be a great option for a Diwali dinner with family and friends.

Dhooska or Dhuska  is a popular deep fried snack eaten all over Jharkhand. The main ingredients of the dhooska are powdered rice, chana dal(powdered) and sometimes boiled potatoes are also added to this savoury dish. The bread is then deep fried. It is often served with any sauce or chutney. Dhuska is mostly made in the market area stalls where people enjoy it as a snack and is rarely found in larger restaurants.

Jharkhand's food culture is different from other's because we have a lot of other cuisines named Sattu Paratha, Pitha, Khapada, Roti, Arsa, Mitha Pitha, and Kudurum Ki Chatni etc that not only satisfy our taste buds but also have medicinal values. And there are a not only one or two famous food but numerous other food items from drinks to leaf based dishes .
