IMPORTANCE OF HYGIENE IN FOOD HABITS
We have heard the word hygiene many times; in fact, right
from childhood, it is imprinted in our memories. What does hygiene actually
mean? It means practices that are important for maintaining good health and preventing
diseases by maintaining cleanliness.
By reading the definition, we now understand its importance
especially in today’s world, where health diseases are not confined to any
specific age groups.
So it is really important to maintain hygiene and this has to
be taught to our kid’s right from their birth, as these are self-preventive
measures take to safeguard an individual against any disease or infection
against any bacteria or viruses.
The most commonly practiced hygiene habits are:
Taking bath regularly and washing of our hands and feet whenever
we come back home from outside
Brushing twice a day, one in the morning and at night before
going to bed for maintaining dental health.
Washing hands properly after going to the toilet.
Wearing clean and fresh clothes.
Keep your mouth covered during coughing or sneezing.
We do pamper our taste buds occasionally by enjoying street
foods and start with we cannot miss on Pani-puri, make sure that the person
serving has a cap on his head and gloves on his hands.
Please do not use the same towel or handkerchiefs; this is likely
to cause the spread of germs or bacteria easily.
Changing bed sheets regularly
Do not use a common towel to dry the body after bathing.
Last but not least, make sure when we are eating we do
not touch anywhere and eat with the same hands.
The last point is the most important point, often told by our
grand-parents and parents and we all grew up hearing and implementing that, and
the same we try to teach our children. The list is never-ending, however these
are some of the points which we can always implement from our end and take
care and avoid unnecessary health issues.
