Guru Gobind Singh Ji
Today i.e., 2nd January
marks the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Gobind Singh also known as Gobind Rai
(1666-1708C.E) born in Patna, Bihar was the tenth guru of total of 10 Sikh
Gurus. He shouldered the
responsibility of taking forward the preaching’s of Guru Nanak at a very young
age of nine years because of the sacrifice of his father, the ninth guru, Guru

He was an enlightened
guru with spiritual intelligence, a poet, philosopher and a warrior as well.
His spiritual teachings always emphasized the worship of one Supreme Being and
ruling out any superstitious beliefs, which are part of his writing in his
works like Jaap Sahib, which is the morning prayer of Sikhs.
Because of his endless
efforts and sacrifices in fighting against injustice, he has been referred to
as Sarbans Dani (the merciful donor, who
sacrificed everything) and Mard Agamra (A man non-pareil). Guru
Gobind Singh initiated the Khalsa Panth, which represented the epitome of the
way of their life and strongly believe in human equality.
So on this auspicious
day, let us all remember this great person for whom there was no
differentiation of caste or creed and take forward his belief in human equality.
